Dr. Bains Introduces Resolution to Urge Release of Epstein Files

For immediate release:

All Democratic Members of California's House Delegation Stood United for Public Transparency While Republican Delegation Voted to Keep Documents Hidden

(Sacramento, CA) Today, Dr. Jasmeet Bains (D-Delano) introduced Assembly Joint Resolution 20 (AJR 20), calling for the immediate release of all Jeffrey Epstein-related files and documents, following a stark partisan divide that saw every Democratic member of California's House delegation vote to release the files while every Republican member voted against transparency.

The resolution comes in response to recent congressional votes where 211 House Republicans voted to block the release of the Epstein Files while 210 House Democrats for release.

"When it comes to sunlight and transparency, California's House Democrats were ready to pull back the curtain while our House Republicans prefer to keep them drawn," said Dr. Bains. "The American people deserve to know the truth, not just what the government wants us to know."

The resolution underscores the clear ideological divide that has emerged on the release of the Epstein Files in California’s House Delegation.

"It's telling that when faced with a choice between protecting the public interest and protecting powerful interests, our Republican representatives chose the latter," continued Dr. Bains.

"House Democrats are ready to let the public do their own research while House Republicans continue to gaslight and hide the ball."

AJR 20 specifically calls upon federal authorities to:

  • Release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein's federal prosecution and incarceration

  • Provide complete transparency regarding any ongoing investigations

  • Ensure public access to materials that have been withheld from congressional and public scrutiny

"The truth doesn't have a party affiliation," finished Dr. Bains
