Dr. Bains' statement regarding the elimination of the Administration for Community Living

(Sacramento, CA) March 28, 2025 – Dr. Jasmeet Bains (D-Delano) released the following statement in response to the Department of Health and Human Services eliminating the Adminstration for Community Living:

“Yesterday’s news was a shocking demonstration of this Presidential administration’s lack of understanding and compassion. We have feared cuts to Social Security and Medicaid, and now, they have eliminated the Administration for Community Living. As a physician, a policymaker, and Chair of the Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care, a daughter, and a human being, we cannot continue to allow our nation to ignore the needs of our most vulnerable. We must condemn actions that threaten the well-being and quality of life of older adults and people with disabilities. We must fight back when these actions threaten to leave our neighbors, family members, coworkers, and friends who are older or disabled without the necessary support to live independently in our communities.” – Dr. Jasmeet Bains, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Aging & Long-Term Care.
