As California’s aging population grows, so do our challenges and opportunities. With a quarter of the population expected to be 60 or older by 2030, the state is confronting complex issues such as workforce, housing, long-term services and supports, caregiver supports and more.
Caring for older generations is part of our social fabric and values. I intimately understand the hurdles confronted by our loved ones as they grow older and those who care for them. As a former family caregiver, a physician and chair of the Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care, I’m committed to working with my colleagues to continue advancing age-friendly policy and budget solutions to support our elders and their caregivers.
